QEP’s commitment to our communities goes beyond being a good neighbor. We work with our stakeholders to create partnerships that have a positive and meaningful impact – making our communities a better place in which to live and work.
QEP believes Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education is vital to our business and to our country’s ability to compete in the global economy. Since 2014, we have invested $3.76 million in STEM partnerships with school districts across our areas of operation. In Texas, we partnered with the Grady Independent School District and the Stanton Independent School District to build Creative Learning Systems SmartLabs. A SmartLab is a state-of-the-art STEM classroom that engages students of all interests and abilities in personalized learning using cutting-edge technology. SmartLab students work in teams to develop projects in the areas of scientific data and analysis, circuitry, computer graphics, digital communications, mechanics and structures, energy, software engineering, robotics and control technology.
We are also committed to improving the health and safety of our local communities. Our partnerships with the American Heart Association’s West Texas Affiliate and the Medical Center Health System Foundation’s Pediatric Unit in Odessa help prevent heart disease and provide critical pediatric treatment for children throughout the region. Our support of the Lenorah Volunteer Fire Department and the American Red Cross Permian Basin chapter provides critical services and funding for disaster relief and public safety.
